And on that note, anyone aware if a Chrome extension does this?

After dicking around with the API for a while I found that that you can highlight/dim tabs using chrome.tabs.highlight running in a background script of an extension. Maybe I'll spend a little while tomorrow making a more complete version.

The Great Suspender, which actually suspends the processes of these tabs, very useful if you have lots of tabs

Yes it suspends the process, but doesn't visually indicate this by fading/sorting the tabs for you. At least, not the version I used a year ago. (edit: it does now!)

For me it fades the favicon slightly

To be fair the suspend feature is the killer here

It visually indicates it by replacing the site's favicon with the app's icon. If you see blocky face, your tab has been suspended.

5. Email a login link to the users verified email address. No need for a password.

I have always felt like this method sounds good, but is just annoying to do. I want to login fast, usually with passwords that autofill from lastpass or similar app.

Maybe if the information on the site was sensitive it would be worth it, but this is too much for just any random app.

This sounds like the least user-friendly option available and a real obstruction, especially if using the application on a mobile device.

Plus the whole thing becomes unsecure if users start forwarding the email to others without thinking of the implications.

> users start forwarding the email

What if the link is only good once? Problem solved.

I was debating including that option :P

I've just never actually seen anyone else do it.For some reason, it feels 100x more complicated than checking my SMS app for an SMS code when in reality its not that different.

Would have been better had you used SVG.

Curious, which chart lib is GitHub using for those charts?

They make calls to d3 in the chart snippet, so I assume it's that. Here's the relevant code from application.js: http://pastebin.com/ApL9SxXs

I was curious too and noticed that those are SVG charts so after a quick check on the minified application.js it seems like it's D3.

Get your articles total word count, and divide by the average word read per minute.

Here's a WP plugin that does this: http://codecanyon.net/item/minutes-to-read/full_screen_previ...

> "We are hiring fashion interns" and the photo on the slide shows girls in underwear. Disappointing. (Upside: quite a few girls at #seedhack)"

The word sexist is going to lose all meaning if people throw it about like this.

So what is lacking from that slide, as the OP depicts it, that disqualifies the OP interpreting it as sexist?

Interesting to see if he closes Sortfolio down, as quoted: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3941504
