That’s true for the 2017 chart and probably was true in 2017. The 2020 chart lists Huawei, Oppo, Xiaomi.

In 2017 huawei was huge (in popularity), even bigger than samsung.

Perhaps you should read the article in full. It clearly says the most popular Android smartphones in 2021 are:
Samsung
Redmi
Oppo
Huawei
Vivo
Which probably account for the majority of Android smartphone sales.

Perhaps you should read the article, "Latency of the most popular android phones in Jan 2017" list only 20 samsungs.
